Why This Matters
Under NOM-070, the category Mezcal Artesanal — which UNITO is certified under — prohibits artificial additives such as:
- Flavorings
- Colorants
- Sweeteners
- Glycerin
- "Softening" agents
- Industrial enhancers
If a producer uses additives, they cannot legally be certified as Mezcal Artesanal by COMERCAM/CRM.
Our certification already communicates “additive-free” without needing to shout it.
